Gary Tharaldson and his wife, Connie, sold a five-bedroom, 6.5 bath at 45 Club Vista Drive in Henderson to Dolphin House, LLC for $4.3 million on March 26.

The Tharaldsons paid $1,038,500 for the property in March 2000. The 9,655 square foot house was built in 2001. It's in the Anthem Country Club.

Mr. Tharaldson is a businessman from Fargo, N.D., and the founder of Tharaldson Lodging Companies, which includes Tharaldson Property Management, Inc., Tharaldson Communications, Inc. and Tharaldson Development Company.

In 1998, he was listed in Forbes' 400 Richest Americans and was awarded by Ernst and Young in 1999 as Entrepreneur of the Year in real estate for the Midwest. In 2006, the Tharaldson Family sold over 100 hotel properties for $1.2 billion in cash and used the money to invest in several properties nationwide. The assets are being managed by Diversified Asset Management in Las Vegas.

He is the namesake of the The University of Mary Gary Tharaldson School of Business and Technology in Bismarck, N.D.

Prior to becoming a property developer, he taught business and physical education in Leonard, N.D., and worked as a salesman for an insurance company.

Mr. Tharaldson graduated from Valley City State University with a degree in business administration and teaching.

Home sales in Henderson dropped almost 27 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also fell from $350,000 to $325,000.
