Concert pianist spends $599K in Las Vegas

Elissa S. Lechnir and her husband, Stephen, sold a four-bedroom, 3.5 bath at 8421 Squaw Valley Ave. in Las Vegas to James D. Gannett for $599,000 on April 10.

The Lechnirs paid $575,000 for the 3,068 square foot house, which was built in 1991, in Aug. 2006. The property is in the South Shores Rampart subdivision.

Mrs. Lechnir, a concert pianist and master piano teacher, is the director of education at the Southern Nevada Music School, which has branches in Las Vegas and Henderson. She is also on the music faculty of the University of Nevada-Las Vegas.

After her debut in New York City in 1988, Lechnir has performed as a solo recitalist and guest soloist, appearing with orchestras throughout the United States and former Soviet Union.

The Lechnirs bought a home at 3431 Tioga Way in Lone Mountain in May 2007.

Home sales in Las Vegas dropped almost 29 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also fell from $280,000 to $270,000.
