Dr. Geoffrey Sher bought a three-bedroom, 3.5 bath condo at 9101 Alta Dr. in Las Vegas from Queensridge Towers, LLC for $3.8 million on April 3.
The 4,753 square foot Unit #1701 is in the One Queensridge Place development.
Dr. Sher, an OB/GYN and infertility doctor, is a co-founder and executive medical director of the Sher Institute for Reproductive Medicine (SIRM), which has offices in major U.S. cities such as Las Vegas, New York City and Los Angeles.
Since establishing the country's first private In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) program in 1982, he has been instrumental in the treatment of thousands of infertility cases. He also founded the Pacific Fertility Medical Centers in California, where he also served as executive medical director.
Dr. Sher penned a widely read IVF book, In Vitro Fertilization, the A.R.T. of Making Babies. He has also written over 200 scientific papers and abstracts on the subject.
He sold a home at 9304 Tournament Dr. in Las Vegas in 2007.
Condo sales in Las Vegas dropped 53 percent in 2007 versus sales in 2006. The median sales price also fell from $199,000 in 2006 to $196,000 in 2007.
One Queensridge Place features two 18-story towers with 219 units ranging from 2,000 to over 14,000 square feet.
