New York-trained physician settles in Vegas 6BD

Shawn A. McGivney bought a six-bedroom, three-bath home at 1401 Casa del Rey Court in Las Vegas from HSBC Bank USA National Association for $520,000 on Oct. 28.

The 4,440-square-foot house, which was built in 1995, is in the Canyon Gate subdivision.

McGivney is a geriatric medicine physician, who has practiced in New York City and Reno.

He is also the founder and president of The Ageless Foundation, which is dedicated to providing educational services and research on well-being and aging.

He received his medical degree from the State University of New York Upstate. He completed his graduate studies in internal medicine at the Montefiore Medical Center and in geriatric medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center.

There have been 16,264 sales in Las Vegas in 2008, with median sales price of $210,000.
