High school dean grabs Paradise 5BD

Marla J. Kober bought a five-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 9145 Cedeno St. in Paradise from Kevin C. and Mary C. Finley for $332,000 on Nov. 21, 2008.

The Finleys paid $190,694 for the property in Sept. 1998. The 2,600-square-foot house, which was built in 1998, is in the Maryland Pebble neighborhood.

Ms. Kober has served as the dean of students at Coronado High School in Henderson. She first joined the Clark County School District in 2001 and taught at Clark High School before transferring to Coronado a year after. She has also taught high school science and math both in Colorado and her native Nebraska.

She graduated from Chadron State College and earned a Ph.D. in educational administration/curriculum and instruction from the University of Nebraska.

Mr. Finley is a certified public accountant.

There were 4,065 home sales in Paradise in 2008, with median sales price of $230,000.
