Douglas H. Bartels and Theresa M. Bartels bought a four-bedroom, 2.5-bath home at 11705 Costa Blanca Ave. in Las Vegas for $410,000 from the Bank of New York on May 18.

The bank foreclosed the property in January.

The 2,680-square-foot home, which was built in 2006, is in the Summerlin neighborhood.

Mr. Bartels is an associate at Edgeview Partners LLC, an independent investment bank in Charlotte, N.C. He is also an FAA-licensed Airline Transport Pilot and previously served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force.

He earned his B.S. in civil engineering at the U.S. Air Force Academy, and attended the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University for a master’s degree in business administration.

There were 22,124 home sales in Las Vegas in 2008, with a median price of $152,000.
