Pop singer Steve Scott Harwell has listed for sale a four-bedroom, five-bath home at 2278 Candlestick Ave. in Henderson for $899,000.

Harwell paid $605,000 for the home in Sept.1999. The 4,532-square-foot house was built the same year in the Anthem/Macdonald Ranch neighborhood.

Kenneth Lowman of Luxury Homes of Las Vegas is the listing agent for the home.

Harwell is the lead vocalist of the American pop group Smash Mouth. Formed in 1994 in San Jose, Calif., the band has sold more than five million copies of their albums worldwide, starting with their double platinum debut Fush Yu Mang in 1997. The breakthrough album included the No. 1 smash "Walkin' on the Sun," which remained at the top of the Billboard modern rock chart for four weeks.

The band's 1999 follow-up, Astro Lounge, went triple platinum on the strength of the ubiquitous hit "All-Star," which reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.The band has released three albums since, highlighted by the 2001 hit single "I'm a Believer," a cover of the 1960's hit by The Monkees which appeared on the soundtrack for the animated film Shrek.

Harwell also appeared on the sixth season of VH1's hit series "The Surreal Life."

There were 9,250 home sales in Henderson in 2008, with a median sales price of $210,000.
