Former heavyweight boxing champion Chris Byrd and his sister, Tracy Byrd, sold a three-bedroom, 3.5-bath home at 773 Latina Court in Henderson to Marc O. Ferguson and Christine G. Ferguson for $1.275 million on Aug. 31.

The Byrds paid $2.3 million for the property in July 2006. The 5,094-square-foot house was built in 2003 in the Anthem/MacDonald Ranch neighborhood.

Mr. Byrd, 39, has held both the WBO and IBF heavyweight belts during his career while amassing a 41-5-1 record with 22 career knockouts. He won the WBO belt in March 2000, when champion Vitali Klitschko was unable to finish the match after suffering a shoulder injury. Byrd eventually lost the WBO belt to Vladmimir Klitschko six months later, but claimed the IBF title with a win by decision over Evander Holyfield in Dec. 2002.

Byrd lost his last fight in May 2008 by TKO to Alexander Povetkin. He announced his retirement following the bout, but has since retracted his statement. Prior to turning professional, Byrd captured the middleweight silver medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. He's originally from Flint, Mich.

Ms. Byrd is also a professional boxer who has won the IFBA and IWBF Lightweight championships and the WIBO Super Lightweight title. She began her career in 1996.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 9,005 home sales in Henderson in 2008, with a median sales price of $200,000.
