Dr. Byung Woo Ryu bought a five-bedroom, three-bath home at 11316 Asilo Bianco Ave. in Las Vegas from US Bank for $349,000 on Aug. 24.

US Bank foreclosed on the property in May. The 2,839-square-foot house was built in 2005 in Summerlin.

Dr. Ryu is on the staff of the Nevada Cancer Institute. He joined NVCI after working for four years at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine as a research associate and instructor.

He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry from Chonbuk National University in South Korea. He obtained his Ph.D. in molecular toxicology from Oregon State University. He completed two post-doctoral fellowships at the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Md. and at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 22,287 sales in Las Vegas in 2008, with median sales price of $130,000.
