John Mallinger bought a three-bedroom, two-bath home at 42 Ocean Harbour Lane in Unincorporated Las Vegas from Jody R. Sterling for $338,000 on Sept. 10.

Ms. Sterling bought the property for $325,000 in January. The 2,721-square-foot house was built in 1998 in the Rhodes Ranch neighborhood.

Mr. Mallinger is a professional golfer on the PGA Tour who finished tied for third at The Players Championship in May. He also finished second at the U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee in July. He joined the tour in 2005 and has since pocketed roughly $4.6 million in winnings.

He earned his bachelor's in marketing from California State University in Long Beach and is originally from Escondido, Calif.

According to BlockShopper.com, there were 35,215 home sales in Unincorporated Las Vegas in 2008, with median sales price of $130,855.
