"Rudy" Ruettiger deals Henderson abode for $1.8M

Daniel Ruettiger and his wife, Cheryl, sold a six-bedroom, nine-bath home at 12 Highland Creek Dr. in Henderson to LJH Ltd for $1.8 million on Jan. 5.

The 7,854-square-foot house was built in 2002 in the Anthem/MacDonald Ranch neighborhood.

Mr. Ruettiger is a renowned motivational speaker and author, and founder/chairman of the Rudy Foundation, which aims to help children around the world reach their fullest potential.

A former collegiate football player at Notre Dame, his life story was immortalized in 1993 by actor Sean Astin in the critically-acclaimed movie Rudy. He appeared in one game for the Fighting Irish and earned his degree in sociology from the school in 1976. He's originally from Joliet, Ill.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 9,563 home sales in Henderson during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $180,000.
