R. Eric Bettelheim and Sophia P. Bettelheim sold a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath at 959 Verdite Ave. in Henderson to Michael S. Rose for $385,000 on April 5.

The Bettelheims paid $820,000 for the property in Sept. 2007, the same year the 3,671-square-foot home in Henderson Townsite/Carver Park was built.

Mr. Bettelheim is principal of The Ascona Group, a hospitality consulting, asset management, development and workout company in Las Vegas.
He previously held management and consulting positions at a number of hotels in resorts in the Phoenix, Arizona Metropolitan Area, including Orange Tree Golf & Conference Resort, the Paradise Valley Resort, and Sanctuary Resort. He has also served various management positions with Sonesta International Hotels, Four Seasons Hotels and Regent International Hotels, the Hotel Pontchartrain in Detroit, Michigan, The Brighton Hotel and Casino in Atlantic city and both the Warwick and Warwick Post Oak Hotels in Houston, Texas. In addition, he has also served as president and COO of Southwest Hospitality Management Group in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

He studied hotel management and business administration at the Hotel School Den Haag in The Hague, The Netherlands. He also attended Cornell University, Rice University and Phillip Crosby Quality Improvement Process College.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 9,872 home sales in Henderson during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $165,000.
