Ronald A. Rohrer and Catherine Jones bought a five-bedroom, 6.5-bath home at 2 Rue Allard Way in Henderson from Alan Rapoport for $1.675 million on Sept. 16.
Rapoport paid $1,165,860 for the property in July 2003. The 7,409-square-foot home in Lake Las Vegas was built in 2002. It is part of the Biarritz subdivision.
Rohrer is the founder and chairman of Alto Technologies, Inc. He is also a university professor emeritus of electrical and computer engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He has also held teaching positions at University of California - Berkeley.
He earned his B.S. from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and both his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of California - Berkeley.
Rohrer and Jones also own a house at 7 Via Del Garda in Henderson. They paid $1.075 million for the property in March 2010.
According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 10,945 home sales in Henderson during the past 12 months, with a median sales price of $149,000.
