Glenn R. West and Karen P. West bought a five-bedroom, 4.5-bath home at 904 Pont Chartrain Drive in Las Vegas from Ronald S. Washington for $625,000 on Oct. 26.

Washington paid $920,000 for the property in April 2004. The 4,388-square-foot house was built in 1999 in Southwest Las Vegas. It is part of the Peccole Ranch subdivision.

Mr. West is a visiting professor of educational and clinical studies at UNLV College of Education. He's also been a professor at Georgetown College, Transylvania University, and the University of Kentucky.

He obtained his Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned a B.A. from San Diego State University. He also completed an M.S. from the University of Kentucky.

Karen West is the dean of the School of Dental Medicine at UNLV. She previously was a faculty member at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry.

She received her D.M.D. from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and her M.P.H. in health administration from the University of South Carolina School of Public Health. She completed a residency at the Medical College of Georgia and a medical management certificate program at the University of Kentucky College of Business.

According to BlockShopper.com, there have been 24,198 home sales in Las Vegas during the past 12 months, with a median sale price of $99,900.
