Michael W. Yackira and Renee L. Yackira bought a four-bedroom, 4.5-bath home at 15 Golden Sunray Lane in Las Vegas from Daniel N. Kouretas for $2.5 million on Dec. 28.

Kouretas paid $2 million for the property in February 2010. The 6,975-square-foot house, built in 2004, is in Summerlin North. It is located in the Summerlin Village subdivision.

Michael Yackira is the president and chief executive officer at NV Energy Inc., where he was previously corporate executive vice president, chief financial officer and executive vice president in strategy and policy. He was also president of FPL Energy, vice president of finance and chief financial officer of FPL Group and senior vice president of market and regulatory services for Florida Power & Light.

He received his B.S. in accounting from City University of New York, Lehman College.

Renee Yackira is the executive director of government relations at Nevada System of Higher Education. Previously, she was deputy general counsel and executive for business law for NV Energy, policy advisor and assistant general counsel to the Nevada Public Utilities Commission and an associate at the law firm of Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro LLP.

She earned her B.S. in economics from Santa Clara University and her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.

Kouretas is the owner of Petra - A Greek Taverna, a Greek restaurant in Summerlin. He also owns two branches of Lucky's Lounge & Restaurant.

He received his B.S. in sociology and communication from Arizona State University.
